The operation with which the goods are transferred from the ship or other means of transport, on land or on another ship or other means of transport in order to allow it to reach the place of final destination. The transhipment may occur as it has been provided for in the transport contract as well as following an event that does not allow the continuation of the journey or due to the unquestionable decision of the shipowner.
