VGM weighing

Our headquarters have a large yard where experienced and qualified operators take care of weighing operations in order to deliver Solas VGM certificates.

On 1 July 2016, the new SOLAS – Safety of Life at Sea Convention – IMO’s maritime treaty setting minimum safety standards in the construction, equipment and operation of merchant ships – came into force. One of the Convention requirements is VGM (Verified Gross Mass), as a condition for loading a packed container.

Verified Gross Mass is the combined weight of the container tare weight and weight of all cargo, including all packaging and dunnage.
