It is the request that the operator (directly or through the forwarder) forwards to the shipping company to reserve a space for cargo on the predetermined ship. Normally the request (which can be made by telephone, fax, and by letter) indicates: name of the ship, date, port of shipment, port of destination, description of the goods (quality, quantity, number of packages).
